There’s Another Prime Day Coming Soon

Amazon just announced that Prime Big Deal Days is returning on October 7 and 8. This is a great way to get a head start on your holiday shopping and find some seriously good deals. Just like the name says, this sale is exclusively for Prime members.

In case you’re not sure if a Prime membership is worth it just for a two-day sale, you can always sign up for a 30-day free trial right now, and it will cover the entire event. Also, if you’re a young adult, you can get an extended six-month trial period and then a reduced price on your membership after that. Prime is great for more than just a sales event, because it has free shipping, access to Prime Video, and a ton of other perks.

According to Amazon, you can expect deals on everything from toys from brands like LEGO and Fisher-Price to electronics from Samsung, LG, and Sonos. This is pretty standard for a Prime Day event, but what gets me excited are the deals on tech goodies like SSDs, microSD cards, gaming laptops, and ultrawide monitors. I usually wait for Prime Day to buy a lot of these things, since it’s usually significantly cheaper.

Amazon is also pushing its new generative AI shopping assistant, Rufus, which can help you find gifts for those people in your life who are hard to shop for. Rufus can also help plan holiday menus or even source the perfect Christmas tree for a small space. It sounds pretty neat, and I’m curious to see how well it works in practice. Along with Rufus, you can use Amazon Lens, a visual search tool, to find products quickly. Amazon even upgraded it with Lens Live, which instantly scans products and shows you real-time matches.

Beyond the new features, there are some pretty useful shopping tips you should know about to make the most of this sale. You can use Alexa to track deals on products in your wish list or cart. Also, I like to add everything I plan on buying to a list before the day, so I can go through prices and see what’s changed.

One thing that some people like using is Amazon Day, which lets you choose a designated day of the week to receive all your packages at once. This way, you only need to be at home one day of the week to receive your packages.

There are some deals that are coming out earlier, according to Amazon. So Prime members don’t even have to wait until October 7 to start saving. You can grab early deals on everything from in-store grocery savings to Kindle deals. This is just another way to get a head start on holiday shopping and make sure you snag the best deals before they’re gone.

The Prime Big Deal Days event will be live in a number of countries, including Australia, the UK, the U.S., and for the first time ever, Colombia, Ireland, and Mexico. My advice is to get your holiday list ready for Prime Day and buy what you can.
