If you’ve never seen Hot Ones, you’re missing out. The YouTube sensation puts celebrities through a taste-testing gauntlet with progressively hotter wings. While attempting to answer interview questions, the guests either achieve bragging rights or turn into a slobbering, crying mess. Or become temporarily speechless.
Now you, too, can test your mettle with a new collaboration between Hot Ones and Popeyes as of September 15. Are you a true hero who can handle anything the Louisiana-based chain throws at you? Or would you be better off sticking with wimpy Honey Barbecue wing sauce?
The Hot Ones collab starts with the Sizzlin’ Sriracha Dippers, which are pickled-garlic-sriracha marinated chicken fingers that are rated on the milder side. Then there’s the Smokin’ Rojo Chicken Sandwich, which raises the temperature into medium-hot territory. The fried chicken filet is slathered with Los Calientes Rojo Spread and served on a toasted brioche bun with pickles.
For maximum heat, you can try Darin’ Dab Ghost Wings or the boneless version. Those are coated in Ghost Pepper dry rub.
If that’s not enough (or you just really like to show off), you can buy a packet of The Last Dab. Popeyes rates it 11 out of 10 on the spiciness scale—guess they want to make sure you know what you’re getting into. This is the same Hot Ones sauce that guests are required to add to their final wing.
Customers can buy all of the above with the Popeyes x Hot Ones bundle for $16.99 at participating restaurants (though the Last Dab Sachet is an extra $1). Rewards members can also earn double bonus points on all Hot Ones menu items between September 22 and September 28 with every online and app purchase. You can try them out along with Keke Palmer on a new Hot Ones episode. Just don’t forget your glass of milk.
