GQ Sports Threw a Football Tailgate Party in the Middle of New York Fashion Week

It’s hard to imagine that there’s ever been a more stylish tailgate party than the one GQ Sports threw on Sunday. The New York Fashion Week Football Watch Party, hosted by GQ Sports and Lexus, drew dozens of high-profile athletes, actors, models, musicians and more. Held in gorgeous late-summer weather at the Standard Biergarten—a stone’s throw away from Hudson River, just underneath the High Line—the party was a fitting celebration for the biggest game of the NFL season to date: The Eagles and Chiefs’ Super Bowl rematch. Travis Kelce and the Chiefs may have taken a 20-17 L, but everybody who flocked to the fiesta in the Meatpacking District definitely picked up a W.

Guests watched Philadelphia take down Kansas City (yet again), played cornhole (NASCAR driver and IMG model Toni Breidinger took to this right away), vibed to sunny tunes from Kaytranada and Daft Punk spun by DJ Rich Medina, and enjoyed German fare like giant pretzels and steins of frothy beer. Machine Gun Kelly walked in wearing a tasteful spin on Ohio State legend Archie Griffin’s jersey, Karrueche Tran hit the photo booth, and Adults heartthrob Jack Innanen strutted his stuff in a Thom Browne vest.

While some made small talk over their bratwurst, others were more interested in the events unfolding on the gridiron. When 12-year NBA stalwart Patrick Beverley arrived, he made a beeline for the nearest screen, set down his Birkin bag, and grabbed a prime spot to watch the second half of the game. Twitch streamer extraordinaire Fanum turned heads in an exceptional trench coat; Shareef O’Neal (son of Shaquille) went ham on the football version of Pop-A-Shot. Snowboarder Zeb Powell—who came iced out in flashy jewelry—actor Delaney Rowe, and Love Island star Kordell Beckham circulated in the crowd.

Football and fashion rarely come together as harmoniously as they do at a GQ Sports party. Unless you’re a Chiefs fan trying to forget that your team is 0-2, scroll through the gallery of photos below for an inside look at everything that went down.
