A few months ago, everyone and their mother was talking about the ‘boneless’ couch – that cloudlike, frame-free furniture trend that ships vacuum-sealed and expands on arrival like a memory foam mattress. I’ll admit, I initially wrote the whole category off. It’s not that they weren’t cute – they just leaned a little too minimal for my taste. So what I wanted wasn’t more style per se, but more detail. More… personality.
And then I came across the ‘couch bed.’
Made by WOWMAX (the same brand behind that viral tufted headboard pillow), this is a name that knows its way around a cushion. What looks like an oversized button-tufted floor pillow is actually a modular seating system – one that you can piece together to create a loveseat, a full-length couch, a sectional, or even a sleeper sofa.

The building possibilities, quite literally, are endless. As are the uses. It’s called a ‘couch bed’ because not only is it plush enough to sit on, but the skin-friendly fabric and supportive polyester fill (which, thanks to clever nine-button tufting, doesn’t slide or lose its shape) make it suitable for sleep too.

Now, one caveat: since there’s no metal frame, each backrest does need to lean against a wall for support.
